Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. FuelFile:

Does not use analytics or tracking services
Does not use advertising SDKs
Does not access your location, contacts, or microphone
Does not create user accounts or require login
Does not transmit any data to servers operated by us

The app works entirely offline. An internet connection is only required for the optional Pro purchase and for restoring purchases.

Local Data Storage

All data is stored exclusively on your device:

Vehicles, receipts and receipt data in a local SQLite database
The raw receipt text read during recognition (OCR)
Receipt photos in the app's local file system
App settings (language, currency, theme)

This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted, uploaded, or synced. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

Text Recognition (OCR)

Receipt text recognition runs entirely on-device via Google ML Kit. Neither receipt photos nor recognised text are sent to any server — processing happens solely on your device.

Permissions

Camera — to scan fuel receipts directly in the app.
Photo library — to import receipts you have already saved.

Both permissions are used only for the respective action.

Export & Delete Your Data

From settings you can export all app data as a JSON file (local backup) or delete it completely at any time. Since no servers are involved, deletion is immediate and permanent.

Third-Party Services

FuelFile uses a single third-party service — solely for purchases:

RevenueCat — processes and validates the Pro subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user ID and the purchase receipt from Apple or Google. No personal data (name, email, location) is sent. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

Payments themselves are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store) — not by us. Their privacy policies apply to the payment transaction.

The core functionality uses no third-party services, SDKs, or analytics.

Platform Features

Share Sheet: When you share an export, your device's native share dialog opens. The shared content is handled entirely by your device's operating system — we do not process or store it.
App Review Prompt: The app may occasionally ask you to rate it using the standard platform dialog. No data is collected through this process.

Children

FuelFile collects no data from any user, including children. The app is intended for adults documenting fuel expenses.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will post the updated version at this URL. Since we collect no data, meaningful changes are unlikely.
